Second Chance Peru

We are a non-profit organization whose goal is to give a second chance to single mothers who are seeking a university degree for various reasons, economic or social. For many of these women, the opportunity to continue their education has been cut short by the fact that they are single mothers without any other support and need to work in order to provide for their children. In many cases, these women are forced to have more than one job, many times being exploited and paid poorly because of their unique situation.

In Second Chance, we provide these single mothers the opportunity to complete their studies with income they earn through teaching Spanish language classes. Through this, they are able to improve their lives as single mothers, economically as well as socially. This allows them to be able to afford the everyday expenses of raising children, while continuing their education.

Through this project, the mothers and their families will no longer depend upon the support of others; they will learn how to support themselves.

In Peru, there is a growing number of single mothers who have been abandoned by their families and society, leaving them unprotected with the few rights and kindnesses that are given to single parents. For this reason, we have created this association with the purpose of providing a second chance in the life of these people who already suffer so much. In order to solve this social problem, Second Chance has created a Spanish Education Program where participants learn the necessary skills to teach Spanish, providing them a way to have a more dignified life. As stated before, Second Chance is a non-profit association determined to improve the standard of living for these single mothers and provide them with the necessities to be a supportive mother.

If you come to our country and take our courses, you will be contributing to these mothers who need a second chance in life.

The hourly pay for instructors for these Spanish classes is $7.00 an hour, of which $4.50 will be paid directly to the teacher and $2.50 will be used to support the Second Chance project.

The course materials depend on the level and have a cost of $26.
